Occupational therapy (OT) for children is an evidence-based practice with a holistic approach. Our therapists help clients with a physical, cognitive or sensory disability overcome challenges through discovery, development and refining essential motor skills.
We determine a child’s performance and growth opportunities across areas that impact daily life through assessments. We prepare an individualized treatment plan with this information and based on family concerns and the child’s special needs.
OT takes place most commonly on a weekly schedule. Sessions integrate therapeutic activities to help clients reach their goals while developing age-appropriate skills. We do offer OT for kids on a virtual basis if appropriate for their program.
Occasionally OT collaborates with applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapists or speech-language pathology (SLP) to deliver unique programs that can pinpoint behavior versus sensory issues and help a struggling child adapt more quickly.
We guide caregivers and children through issues such as sleep, picky eating, sensory processing, adaptive equipment, ergonomics, home modifications, and more.
OT for children helps families pinpoint concerns quickly, so you can have more enjoyable experiences at home and in public.
